Dallas, Texas – September 3, 2019 – Sky Island Capital (“Sky Island”), a Dallas-based lower middle market private equity firm, is excited to announce the recent additions of two new team members, Ben Hughes, who will lead Sky Island’s business development efforts as Director of Business Development, and Michael Marsh, who joins the investment team as an Associate. Ben is returning to his native Dallas after spending the past 12 years with Wells Fargo’s investment bank, most recently serving as a Director covering the building products and homebuilding industries. Ben brings of wealth of experience and talent to the Sky Island team and will focus on differentiating Sky Island in the market as a preferred partner for management teams, business owners, and other intermediaries. Michael joins Sky Island after spending the past two years in Houlihan Lokey’s financial restructuring group.

In under a year since its founding, Sky Island has raised $125 million, acquired its first platform portfolio company, Material Sciences Corporation, completed an add-on acquisition for Material Sciences, Alum-a-Fold Pacific, and built a team of seven professionals. The firm is also in the process of building its new headquarters, which will be in Harwood International’s newest building, Hardwood 10, in the Uptown area of Dallas.
